Stormwater and agricultural runoff were identified as critical sources of water pollution in the Banklick Watershed. Acquiring land to create what is called "riparian buffers" along the waterways is a key step in cutting down the pollution. Research has shown that well-maintained filter strips and vegetated buffers can reduce the amounts of bacteria and sediment in streams by over 50%.
Our goal - protect the land next to our streams and restore it with native plant species. If you are interested in donating land for waterway conservation purposes, please contact us.
